That belief has guided Sherwood Photography since it was founded in Brooklyn in 1948 by Richard Marchisotto's father. While photography has changed dramatically over the years, one thing has remained constant: photographs have the power to become part of a family's story.

Today, Richard Marchisotto and his business partner, Kevin Togher, continue that tradition with a warm, thoughtful approach to portrait photography centered on genuine connection, not passing trends.

We want every session to feel relaxed and enjoyable, allowing children to be themselves, families to connect naturally, and authentic moments to unfold. Rather than chasing perfect poses, we gently guide each session while creating portraits that reflect the people you love most.

From the very beginning, we're thinking beyond the camera. Every portrait is thoughtfully created to become part of a beautifully displayed wall portrait collection or an heirloom album that tells your family's story for generations.
